Overview

The moving load is one of the most important considerations in the bridge design. In this course, we will broaden your understanding of vehicle load to get accurate moving load results. In addition, we will discuss in detail how it affects the analysis results depending on how to define traffic line lanes and vehicles. It will be helpful to most of  bridge engineers who handles moving load factor on a daily basis.

This 1 hour course will cover the full process from the modeling of a PSC girder bridge to the analysis using the moving load. The actual  PSC bridge model from a real project is used in the training.  Attendees will get many useful tips on the common design process of PSC bridge.

Hands-on Training of 'Modeling & Moving Load Analysis of Prestressed Concrete Girder Bridge'

How to simplify the modeling & the analysis of prestressed concrete girder bridge using midas Civil functions (Composite Prestressed section / Link and Spring Boundary Condition / Moving Load Analysis).

  • 10 min

    Question & Answer

Objectives

Key Point 1: Girder Bridge Wizard

Prestressed Composite Bridge Wizard in midas Civil adds versatility to engineers. The whole bridge model will be ready to run in a less than an hour.  We will lay out the full details  for you to apply to your next project right away.

Key Point 2: Vehicular Live Load

The vehicular live load is one of the most significant factor in the bridge design. Often, it is not considered properly in the bridge design. The session will broaden your understanding about the vehicular load to acquire accurate result.

Key Point 3: Extract & Interpret Result

After learning finite element analysis, it is important to correctly understand the result value. The speaker will share key results that are mainly useful for prestressed  composite girder design practice.

Speaker
  • JiHoon Kang

Lead Engineer, Bridges / MIDAS IT

His main role is to work closely with bridge engineers around the world to ensure they are satisfied with midas Civil and to listen the areas of improvement. He also manages multiple training programs to show the shortest path to successfully complete their bridge projects.
