Applied Seismic Engineering with MIDAS
Expert-Guided, End-to-End Workflow

📍Location: Heritage Hill Hotel
✏️Hands-On Training Overview

This hands-on training follows the seminar and focuses on the practical application of the topics covered. Participants will move beyond theory and directly implement what they learned, building complete structural models from start to finish using MIDAS software.

With continuous guidance from MIDAS experts, the training walks through the full workflow step by step—from initial model setup to analysis and interpretation—providing a structured and supportive environment for learning.
The hands-on training will be offered twice with identical content on March 14 and March 18, giving participants flexibility to attend the session that best fits their schedule.

This session is designed to help engineers gain hands-on experience and confidence in applying seismic engineering workflows to real projects.

👀 Who Should Attend

This hands-on training is ideal for:
- Structural and civil engineers who want to apply seismic engineering concepts in practice
- Engineers planning to use MIDAS Gen NX or MIDAS Civil NX in real projects
- Professionals who want to build complete models from scratch, from setup to analysis and interpretation
- Engineers working on building or infrastructure projects under Eurocode 8 or the Greek National Code
- Seminar attendees who want to directly implement what they learned with expert guidance
👉 Basic knowledge of structural engineering is recommended. No advanced MIDAS experience is required.

📝Learning Objectives

By the end of this hands-on training, participants will be able to:

Build and analyze a new building model in MIDAS Gen in accordance with Eurocode 8, following a complete seismic design workflow from model setup to seismic analysis and design checks.

Apply Eurocode-based seismic design principles directly within MIDAS Gen, understanding how modelling choices affect analysis results and design decisions.

Define and apply moving loads and construction load sequences in MIDAS Civil NX in compliance with the Greek National Code.

Model realistic load scenarios for bridge and infrastructure projects, including load positioning, sequencing, and result interpretation.

Execute a start-to-finish, software-based engineering workflow with step-by-step guidance from MIDAS experts.

Gain practical confidence in applying MIDAS tools to real-world structural and seismic engineering projects.

🏗️ Training Schedule
  • March 17th 18:00 - 22:00

MIDAS CIVIL NX Training: Moving load and load sequence with Greek national code A hands-on session where participants directly model moving loads and construction load sequences in MIDAS Civil NX, following the requirements of the Greek National Code, with step-by-step guidance from MIDAS experts.

  • March 18th 18:00 - 22:00

MIDAS GEN Training: How to design a new building based on Eurocode 8 A hands-on session guiding participants through the complete workflow for designing a new building in MIDAS Gen in accordance with Eurocode 8, from model setup to seismic analysis and design checks.
