OVERVIEW

The basic structural materials for posttensioned segmental crosshead are very similar to posttensioned structures in general, which consist of high-strength concrete, high-strength prestressing steels, and ordinary reinforcing steel, including grout in the duct. The general principle with prestressed design is to ensure that the concrete is either in compression or within accpetable stress limits under service load conditions. Prestress also enhances the shear and ultimate capacity of concrete section.

This webinar describes different aspects are considered during the design of segmental crosshead. The procedure will include segmental pier analysis with the particular requirements of the BS 5400.

KEY POINTS

Key point 1: Segmental Crosshead Pier Design Elements

Segmental Crosshead Pier designs are widely used over the years, in response to the demands of construction sites. Each project is different; it has its own demands related to the aesthetics, economy, buildability and safety. The webinar will highlight the key elements influenced the design.

Key point 2: Loading Requirements

We will look into the critical loading to be considered in the segmental crosshead design.

Key point 3: BS 5400 Design Requirements

midas Civil is a comprehensive package of analysis and design that will be utilized in this project that in compliance with the code requirements.
