OVERVIEW

During construction, the bridge undergoes lots of changes, mainly in its structural system, boundary conditions, and material properties over time. It is important to review these changes as these may lead to different displacement and member forces which may result to be more critical for the structure than the service stage.

Changes in load, boundary condition, and material property (creep, shrinkage) during the construction of the structure must be incorporated in the analysis of the bridge as at times the forces and stress during construction drive the design of the bridge.

KEY POINTS

Key Point 1: Why Construction Stage Analysis?

This webinar will give a brief info about what is construction stage analysis and why it is so important in bridge design. We will also compare conventional to construction stage analysis.

Key Point 2: Time Dependent Material Property

As time passes, volume of concrete changes and due to this creep and shrinkage occurs in concrete. This leads to secondary stresses, cracks and deformation in structure. In addition to this the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete varies with time. In this webinar we will see how we can consider time dependent properties in our analysis

Key Point 3: Construction Stage Analysis and Results Interpretation in midas Civil

In this webinar we will learn step by step how we can define construction stage analysis in midas Civil. In addition to this we will also investigate the Construction Stage Analysis control using which we can customize our analysis. Finally, we will look at the construction stage results obtained in midas Civil
