OVERVIEW

The feasibility study phase is a crucial part of a project, and it’s aimed to find the best solution for an engineering problem.
Midas Civil has the flexibility to analyze different types of bridges, helping to take the best decisions in finding the optimal structure for every scenario.

The objective of the Webinar is to explore the ways in which designers can use the software to solve complex engineering problems. Three solutions for the realization of an overpass will be analyzed, going gradually deeper and deeper in some of the main aspects of composite bridges design according to Eurocodes and National Standards.

KEY POINTS

Key point 1: I-Beam Cross Section Solution

In first place will be analyzed a simply supported bridge with two composite I-beams. Slab is modeled as a system of transversal beams. Static load analysis, including Wind and Temperature loads, is executed. Fundamentals of Moving Load analysis are explored.

Key point 2: Tub Section Solution

The interference with an intersecting road push the study forward to a single tub girder bridge. Substructure is modeled and seismic analysis is executed.
The problem of instability of steel section is investigated through a buckling analysis.

Key point 3: Double Tub Section Solution

Further environmental constrains takes to a reduction of the span and to a composite double tub section bridge. Slab is modeled as a plate element and the beam section is imported from an Autocad file. Construction Stages analysis is faced.
